The website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. To deliver the page to you, IONOS receives your IP address and the information your browser sends with every request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: I have a legitimate interest in delivering the website securely and reliably.

This website uses the open-source web analytics service Matomo to count how often it is visited. Matomo runs on my own server at netcup GmbH in Nuremberg, Germany (api.wasser-werte.de). The data never leaves this server and is not shared with third parties.

With every page view, the page sends Matomo the page you opened without parameters, its title and, if you came from another website, that site's address without path or search terms. With the request, the server also receives your IP address, the time, your browser's language setting and its identifier (user agent). From these, Matomo derives the browser, operating system and device type, and estimates a country from the language.

Your IP address is shortened by two bytes before it is stored or analysed, so it cannot be linked to you. Matomo sets no cookies, and nothing is stored on or read from your device for the statistics. The individual page views are deleted after 180 days.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: I have a legitimate interest in analysing how the website is used in anonymised form. Since the statistics neither set cookies nor store or read information on your device, I do not ask for consent under Section 25(1) of the German TDDDG.

You can object at any time without anything being stored on your device: turn on “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” in your browser. The page then sends nothing to Matomo, and the server also discards requests carrying this signal.

If you switch the language or the appearance, the page remembers your choice (“de” or “en”, “light” or “dark”) in your browser's local storage (localStorage), so it opens that way on your next visit. If you haven't chosen a language, it follows your browser's language setting, and without a choice of your own the appearance is light. The entries stay in your browser and are not sent to me or to Matomo. You can delete them in your browser at any time. They are strictly necessary to show the page the way you chose (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).

If you email me, I use your address and your message only to reply to you. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your message is a request such as tutoring, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

You have the right to access the data I process about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its processing, to data portability, and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Just send me an email. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
